Alternatives to Litigating a Corporate Divorce: A CPE Seminar for Accountants

Please join us for this informative seminar worth 2 CPE Credits. Companies and business owners from time to time part ways. This process can be a difficult and expensive one, specifically in the case that the partners take the case to litigation.

This seminar will provide an overview on the alternatives to litigation-- primarily mediation and arbitration. We will provide an outline of the process and a timeline, as well as analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each option. Included in the seminar will be a description of the unique characteristics of the different forums for dispute resolution (i.e., FINRA and AAA).

We will also review the enforceability of awards from these forums and the general appeal and domestication process.

Our speaker will be Joseph Paykin, Esq., Managing Partner of Paykin Krieg & Adams LLP.
